thats the plan! a good one it is, at that.

I had asked previously but to no answer, maybe i'll get some insight here instead (sorry to hijack). Whats the procedure for backing up this monstrosity of information that is archive.org?

For temporary backups we mirror every single machine every day. For long term archiving, we just migrate hardware and disk contents as necessary.

In addition to the second copy at the Internet Archive, we have donated a full copy of our collection to the Biblitheca Alexandrina in Alexandria Egypt. We have not kept them up-to-date because our bandwidth limitations, but they have 100TB now. -brewster

Well..as far as the details are concerned, I'm sure Jon can shed some light, but check out the "About IA" section of the website for a little information relating to the storage and preservation of the IA's collection
